3. Blue Cross of Hyderabad is a non-profit Animal Welfare Organization that works for the welfare of animals and preservation of animal rights in the Twin Cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, India. Founded by film stars Nagarjuna and Amala Akkineni in 1992, Blue Cross of Hyderabad works towards making a safer world for animals. The shelter is spread across a two-acre plot in Jubilee Hills on a small hillock and is surrounded by open space. Founder Amala, has not just lent her name to the project but does get her hands dirty. The shelter has 780 resident animals which have met with accidents or just abandoned.
